The Naval Nuclear Laboratory comprises the U.S. Department of Energy locations and personnel responsible for developing advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology, providing technical support to ensure the safety and reliability of our nation’s naval nuclear reactors, and training the Sailors who operate those reactors in the U.S. Navy’s submarines and aircraft carrier Fleets. Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) Technical Development and Training (TDT) Subdivision is seeking an experienced administrative assistant to join our team!  The newest team member will assist with clerical, administrative, logistical, and financial management duties and will team with administrative assistants across the Enterprise Integration Directorate to provide support to personnel located at multiple sites.  Along with the typical administrative assistant duties, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to support a variety of additional administrative tasks related to training, technical leadership development, and multimedia communications.  Growth and development opportunities will be provided in this position to learn new skills and enhance the candidate's knowledge and proficiency of business processes and applications. Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of six years of relevant or;
  • Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience or;
  • Bachelor degree in a related field from an accredited college or university

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with maintaining SharePoint sites
  • Demonstrated excellence in quality of work with producing documents and executing processes
  • Effective organization skills and demonstrated experience with successfully managing multiple work tasks
  • Experience with scheduling and managing calendars using Microsoft Outlook
  • Experience with arranging travel and processing expense reports for employees
  • Experience with managing budgets and placing procurements
  • Demonstrated effective teaming and communication skills
