Job Description

Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a highly motivated Information Technology (IT) professional to join our Human Resources Information Technology (HRIT) team!

As part of this role, the successful candidate will provide efficient, simplified, innovative, modern, creative and original IT solutions, lead technical efforts and serve as an authority and consultant providing advanced IT support for Human Resources (HR) and the NR Program.  This individual will be the lead interface between HR and other support organizations to ensure the IT needs of the department are addressed.  This individual will be required to solve complex problems requiring considerable investigation and analysis and thorough understanding of principles, ingenuity, and creativity to resolve. This individual will also have the opportunity to provide technical and professional guidance and coaching to peers and less experienced colleagues.  They will ensure goals, roles and expectations are clearly defined, contribute to a positive work environment and advise others of recommendations on new/alternate policies, processes, methods or systems to meet requirements in order to obtain support for these solutions.

Some areas of opportunity include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide proactive IT leadership responsibility anticipating needs and initiating actions to obtain concurrence and support for new work
  • Manage project or initiatives that make use of new technological approaches
  • Stay informed of the evolving needs and demands of HR in order to propose IT solutions that meet those needs in an efficient and cost-effective manner
  • Serve as the IT technical expert, consultant and perform the duties of the IT Partner for HR and other associated Departments
  • Lead for share drive permissions and auditing
  • Lead for shared HR inboxes on multiple networks
  • Analyze employee data and generate reports
  • Write and follow standard operating procedures
  • Represent HR on cross-organizational teams established to ensure enterprise business support
  • Software / Hardware owner of medical equipment testing
  • Liaison with IT for support of HR cyber security and IT needs
